I’ve had many stops in the career path from aspiring jazz drummer to data scientist. Here are a few highlights:
Arizent (f.k.a. Source Media)
After graduating from Fordham’s Gabelli School of Business, I got a job as a Delegate Sales Manager at Source Media. I sold conference registrations to members of the banking, public finance, and payments industry. I’ll be honest: I lack the temperament to be a naturally gifted sales person. But I worked hard and sold over a million dollars worth of registrations. I sold to CEOs, politicians, economists, analysts, lawyers and more. I value the experience because it taught me how improve my communication and networking skills.
Momofuku Milk Bar
While at NYU, I worked as a delivery driver for Momofuku Milk Bar in 2013. I was 19 years old driving an oversized refrigerated van to 6 locations across Manhattan and Brooklyn. I loved it. I was promoted to a management role in the summer of 2014. I worked in the production department where we handled inventory, delivery, and packaging for the 6 stores, an additional location in Toronto, and 2 partnerships with the ACE Hotel in Manhattan. During the busy holiday season, my team grew to up to 15 people per day. I managed their daily tasks and reported to upper management on special projects and bulk orders.
